Retail billionaire Solomon Lew was allegedly involved in an altercation in the carpark of Melbourne's Crown Casino that left his former son-in-law in with a chipped tooth.
The stoush between Andrew Priester and Solomon Lew occurred just after 9pm (AEST) on Saturday after the pair exchanged words in the VIP section of the carpark, the Herald Sun reports.
Mr Priester, who is the former partner of Mr Lew's daughter, Jacqueline, claims to have chipped a tooth after the 65-year-old billionaire allegedly pushed a car door into his face.
Mr Priester said he reported the incident to Prahran police about an hour after it occurred.
A spokesman for Mr Lew's gave a conflicting version of events, telling the Herald Sun Mr Lew was the victim.
He claimed that an agitated Mr Priester approached Mr Lew while he was sitting in his car and allegedly abused him, before trying to hit him through the window.
"Mr Lew then opened the car door in an attempt to use the car door to push Mr Priester away from the car," the spokesman told the Herald Sun.
"Mr Priester continued to try to strike Mr Lew. While still seated in the vehicle, Mr Lew pushed Mr Priester away through the open window with an open hand."
Mr Priester said Mr Lew's statement was incorrect and that it was now a matter for Victoria Police.
The 65-year-old retail mogul travelled to Sydney on Sunday for business but planned to report the altercation to Melbourne police when he returned.
Crown Casino reportedly gave Mr Lew's lawyers access to CCTV vision of the incident.
A spokesman for the casino refused to comment on the incident, or about allegedly providing the CCTV footage to Me Lew's legal team, The Age reports.
Victoria Police media said they were not aware of any incident.
